Camera Suggestions for displays
« on: November 11, 2011, 08:22:34 PM »
Ok, we are horrible at taking pictures of our work. 1 because 80% of our work is custom and not allowed to to be
displayed for personal preferences or we are dropshipping. So, now some of our custom work is being allowed to
show but we only have our cell phones for pix both are 5mp. I am extremely happy with my new Samsung phone,
I never purchased anything Samsung before..so I looked into their cameras. This is one that I found and like
because of the features, I am not looking for something professional just some to take a decent picture.

Any suggestions? or preferred brand names?

I enjoy my Canon Power Shot SX 210 - I got it about a year ago.  Newer ones are out, but it's loaded.  What I did was go to Wal Mart and look at what was on the sale table.  If you don't need the biggest and best, see what they are dumping to make way for the new stuff.  The only difference between mine and the one coming out was the newer one had the GPS feature like the i-phone so it could map your photos.  I saved some serious $ and still got a good product.

For the background, pick a neutral light to mid tone color.
That way you can use it for both black and/or white items.

The best backgrounds I have found are various colors of crushed velvet.
You don't have to worry over wrinkles.   ;D

you could go green... green screen wizard software will then auto remove the background and you can drop anything in you want, its available as a photo shop plug in or a stand alone. i use it all the time for a lot more then portraits like when i need a type of thingamabob for a part of a layout i go photograph it with green behind it so i can drop it in to my work...

http://www.greenscreenwizard.com/.  Just replace the person with a thing, all of my photos are on the shop computer and it's off right now. I even sometimes fill the background with green on stuff using photo shop then let greenscrean wizard do the removal  its easer to fill with photo shop some times rather then remove, I use the plugin and the stand alone with much joy.

I looked at the actual green/blue background is that necessary or is that something can be DIY cause it looks
fairly easy to make.  :D

Dyi ... I used a green Flat paint from lows. Painted it on canvis wala... The thing to keep in mind is lighting if you make a shadow on the green background is is harder to get it to go away, I was in a fabric show a few weeks ago and noticed a
Large amount of fleece cheep one of the colors was the color of green screen, Ifi I did not have a background already I would get some. It will make a way good backdrop, you probably can find a deal on close out green fabric some plase

Thank You, so I had a 5X Kelly green shirt and was doing some small kids birthday shirts. This was my first attempt and I love it just thinking of other background but this came out great.
