Parking Lot Signs
« on: October 22, 2011, 10:57:35 AM »
I have a customer that wants to put signs like this in
his parking area.  He says they are made of just regular
4 mil. white coroplast.
Is there an alternative substrate I can suggest that would
hold up better for this type use but not make them cost
prohibitive?

All I have is this photo to go by...I am guessing they are
about 18"-24"  by  6'.

Are they just glued (epoxy?) to the cement?
I don't have to worry about installation myself as these would
be going to different areas all over the country... but I would
like to offer instructions as to what to use.

Anyone make something similar to this?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Something like Komatex might be okay.  $50 for 4x8 sheet @ 6mm thick.  I get mine at Aluma Panel : http://www.alumapanel.com/view_product.cfm?step=1&lines_ID=317&name=Komatex%20Colors

Here is the Komatex website: http://www.kommerlingusa.com/komatex/fabrication.cfml

Sold to me as indoor and outdoor.  I've been using it outdoor - I'd hate to think they changed their mind.  Several signs are about a year old now, doing well.  None "straight out" in the open.  All under eaves.

PLEASE READ: http://www.kommerlingusa.com/outdoor_PVC_usage.cfml

Some of the aluminum sheets that Aluma Panel carries are cuttable with "regular woodworking tools" and are not much more than the Komatex product.
