On a side note.. My teflon sheet had gotten ink on it from previous runs doing sublimation items and I picked up some polyester fabric to make custom t-shirt tags and I just pressed some with my fabric and the teflon sheet and it pulled the discoloration out of my teflon sheet and into the fabric :D SO in essence I just cleaned up teflon sheet LOL

Printed yesterday on the ricoh after not using it for a couple of weeks and didn't even need a  head cleaning.  Hope you get your epson sorted out, that was the drawback to the epsons with sawgrass ink is they clogged too quickly.

I can see myself biting the bullet and getting a proper sublimation printer and inks if things go good.. So far the epson has let me learn the process for a fraction of the price but I was looking at that basic ricoh they had and the price wasn't that bad for a starter model but I do like having the larger print capabilities as well.

I think Richards set up is a great way to get started!  It took a little to get me to go with the rx7000 after a bad experience with a gx5050 off ebay that I didn't like the results from I bit the bullet 10 days before Christmas last year and went with the bid dog. worked out great when Stacey wanted to do that Throw.  I don't ever see me going true wide format for sublimation though.
think I learned the hard way is there is no support or warranty for items purchased thru Ebay, even New in the box items. so if a print head doesn't constantly fire correctly you are SOL.  Second time has been thru Conde with incredible support.  If I wanted to see if I liked it I would go Cobra in a heart beat for the experience.  Just set up a print head maint. program so it prints every day.

Yeap, I learned the hard way with sawgrass ink. Almost $600 bucks wasted on bulk ink system and clogged printer. As far as epson, don't tell. I purchased extended warranty on my WF1100 from Staples. No questions product replacement, so if it dies or starts to fail, atleast I'll get the credit of the purchase price towards a new one.

Claw I have the same issue with my 1100. I have learned the hard way to clean the print heads first if I have not used the printer in a few days. I use richards pigment ink and carts, not sure what the actual problem is, but after a cleaning or two it goes away.

That's the thing.. my pigment 1100 does not do this.. I use the MIS Auto print and print every couple days and I never have to clean the pigment one. But the high temp for some reason is loosing its alignment and I get banding

Woot! Ok my printer arrived at Richards Tuesday.. He did a full clean out and flush of the system and installed the new CIS into it and he said he ran several prints through and it was running good.. I should have it back in a few days.

I ordered a WF 1100 with high temp ink and received it about a month ago.  We had a death in the family and haven't even hooked it up yet.  Will I have a problem with clogging?  I plan on getting into it soon but it may still be a while.
Thanks for any input.

If its brand new I dont think you will have a problem.. You will need to pull the plugs out and install the filters to get it going..

Got my new scanner in last night and also ended up moving rooms. A roommate moved out and I took over that bedroom as my work space.. It's a small room but I've got it all laid out now and I think it will work just fine :)

My printer returns today!!! I am so excited I have tons of stuff to do and having the CIS system in it now I am ready to really rock and roll!!   049.gif
