Sublimation /w Epson 1100 (Cobra High Temp Ink)
« on: June 30, 2010, 09:58:25 PM »
Ok Taking the plunge.. Wanted to start a thread to kind of keep track of things. I am going to be changing over my extra epson 1100 printer over to the refillable carts with Cobra Ink's High Temp Ink.

This is what I have ordered;

Cobra Inks Refillable Carts /w High Temp and the DyeTrans Multi-Purpose paper along with Some dog tags and some coasters  :thumbsup:

I already have about 10 folks interested in custom tags so this would just about offset the cost spent today getting setup!  :o Am I missing anything?

Nope - that Sunie will work just fine.  I actually printed conde's sublimation manual and bound it - great for referencing times and temps for different substrates.

Brad is incredibly helpful and a great guy - I had the staff at conde give him a little grief for not coming to indy this year.  The great thing about their stuff is it works every time - no hit and miss!  That means a lot to me when sublimation ink is so expensive.

When they called and got me all setup he mentioned the coasters I ordered they only had one in so he is going to substitute for some different ones and even through in a couple extra for me! I really have high hopes for this High Temp ink from Cobra..  The cost difference between the sublimation ink and the high temp is a big pretty jump.. I hope it can perform well..

The ink was delayed a day but I got the carts in today.. Just swapped out the factory carts for these refillable carts and the printer is charging them now. Gonna do a couple smell test prints and such just to make sure all is working well..

My dog tags, sub paper and everything should be here Tuesday or Wednesday :)

Carts installed and everything is rocking and rolling,

5x7 Print test of the new ink on the Cobra Ink Logo from Bill.

Left is High Temp and Right is Pigment.. Same exact settings printed for each on plain paper.. In person the only difference i can tell is the High Temp has a slightly faded look to it on the plain paper other than that it looks great!

The High temp will look faded until it is heated!

claw - you should grab some of the 15 oz mugs from Joto before they are gone - they are an incredible deal right now
