« on: December 29, 2011, 01:16:59 PM »
Has anyone ever heard of a Clear or Transparent/Translucent Paper or Film for sublimation?

I tried google but I couldn't find anything.

Why would you need clear? Would it be just for lining up purposes or something?

HaHa no not really I just make outlines and marks for lining things up.

It was mentioned by someone on another forum that he uses a transparent sub paper that is cheaper than regular sub paper, but when others asked where he gets it from there is no reply.

I was just curious.

Ahh I dont think there is much to that claim. I have not seen anything like that and I'm assuming what they mean by Transparent is there is no paper transferred. Like what you would get with JPSS shirt transfers. The paper actually transfers with the print versus just the print.

I saw a couple googled sites that had sublimation paper and they mention transparent but the paper is actually opaque.. More of a translation issue i'm assuming.

No he actually claims that it is transparent.  The other thread was about alignment problems and he said that he uses a transparent paper that he can see right through so he has no alignment issues.

Could you post the URL.  Sounds interesting if it actually exists.

Heres some see thru paper sold by Dave at SKMFG.
http://www.t-shirtforums.com/dye-sublimation/t173811.html
THeres a post by a user that got a sample of it.

Why ? I print on full 13x19 sheets to press on my 12x15 press. And when I can't make out the artwork on the other side its a bitch to get it straight at times. THo I try to put marks on the back side. If its not costing me more and presses good I will switch to the see thru.
