Tractor Supply Coal Slag
« on: January 02, 2012, 06:30:39 PM »
What is the difference in the size of the media in the different coal slag sizes at tractor supply?  I bought the 40/80 and the etch is a little to rough for my taste,  I would like to to get some thing finer but not sure how about the sizing of the media.  Can someone please give me some sizing advise?

If that's too rough for you, you might as well get some fine grit aluminum oxide.  I use the finest grit of Black Diamnd that TSC carries and I prefer the coarseness of the etch.

I use the 80-90 AO in the gray bucket. It starts out a little course but after a couple of runs it breaks down and gives a smoother finish. Check out ny post in show your work "Big Dog Biscut Co.". That was done with 80-90 that's been run several times.
