Just a note here on the app fluid, baby shampoo usualy does not have any harsh detergents and really works great.
It is what we use for vinyl and window tint.

Is there a difference in Rubbing Alcohol vs Isopropyl Alcohol. The one I was told to avoid for app fluid is denatured alcohol. I happen to have a CVS pharmacy here at work and they have 70% and 91% iso alcohol. I am thinking I should get the higher blend so it will help with the app fluid. I did find that having too much soap prevents it from drying very quickly. LOL

No.  I use both 70% and 91% it doesn't seem to make a dfifference.

You are right about Denatured...DO NOT USE IT. It will break down the adhesive.

I've used John's brew with a few drops of Dawn in it since I started and I have storefronts out there that are 2 years old & still look perfect. No peeling or anything. And one is on the West side of the building that gets the direct afternoon ( hot Florida) sun.
But also, I only use oracal or 3M vinyl.

My only problem with the homebrew mix is getting small decals to stick to glass, seems like no matter how much I squeegee the fluid never dries.  ???

considering it's just a few drops of Dawn, and the degreaser in Dawn is probably a very low percentage of the ingredients... I wouldn't think it would be enough to hurt the adhesive.

I honestly dont know brother, I tried a few different mixes from a tablespoon to only 1 drop and it never seemed to make a difference. I tried different alcohols, different everything & nothing worked on glass for me.  ???

Try baby shampoo and more time before you try to remove your app tape. One or two drops per quart.
I have used just about all the comercial app fluids and anything on glass just takes longer.

+1

I apply dry on the small stuff too.  No need to waste juice on those. I apply dry on glass most all the time
unless it's layered or something big and I'm by myself. I always use iso alcohol to clean the glass too.

Also, I rarely do wet app on banners. The latest banner I did for my friend
Tony was done dry and has some pretty big letters to deal with.
