flexi sign/ production manager

I am still having connection issues with the CS 630 to windows 7!
I bought a new prolific USB to Serial cable and it has its own drivers.
I installed the driver and then connected the cutter.
I go to print out a word to see if the connection is ok and nothing happens.
Com ports are the same, baud is 9600.
I cannot remove the old connections i had in production manager?
I am having trouble starting a new setup?
Any ideas out there?

hey Grae,
were abouts do you live? just so i know how i can help you because if you have skype i can go through and spend some time helping you go through and help set it up and run through any of the common problems faced with flexi. if you don't have skype but have another chat program you run then thats cool. the only thing is going to be the time differences between us(if your in the U.S). but i keen to help if you need . and you can always pm me with any questions and i will endevour to help as much as i can.

make sure you unclick the old setups and delete all the files in the cache in production manager

Pete thanks for the offer, but i do not have any chat software. And i work crazy hours so hooking up could be near impossible.
Im in Australia.

Dakotagrafx you may be onto something. I cannot remove the old setups?
How do i clear PM cache?

on the tabs on the bottom of your screen click on pm and highlight the old jobs and delete them

Dakotagrafx, i need a little more info please.

If i start PM and right click the tab on the taskbar it only gives me 3 options.

open
pin to taskbar
and exit?

actually look at the bottom of your screen where your programs are *(that are open) click on program manager there and it will show any jobs waiting to be done - a second way to do this is in production manager where it shows your cutter at the top - right below that is 2 icons - the second one opens the same screen.

Ok this is where i am at.
I have formatted my hard drive.
Fresh windows 7 ultimate x64
installed the xp mode add on
installed flexisign 8.1
bought a new prolific cable with its own driver
installed driver in xp mode
activated com port 1 with both xp and flexi.

Now i start up flexi with the cutter on and plugged in and online.
I do a short text and send it to the cutter.
PM shows the file as cutting ..67% then 100%
The cutter says working...COM 0 connection
and nothing happens???????????????????????

I dont have much hair left its all on the floor.
any ideas please folks.
