Contour Cut Question
« on: December 31, 2011, 10:51:55 AM »
hello,

Ive been cutting vinyl for a year now and would like to get into printing decals on vinyl via an inkjet printer.  I have read a couple threads in which people will print decals on a printer and then transfer the printed decal to a basic vinyl cutter and contour cut the decal.  Im confused as to how you set up the software and cutter itself to properly and accurately cut the decal out.

Any help would be great.

You need to tell us what cutter and software you are using to help you with this. Thanks Michael

I haven't heard of AIP but it looks like it doesn't have the sensor or eye built in for contour cutting, I think Signcut software has a manual way to do it but I have never used it. Maybe somebody else will have some better news for you. Michael

There is a way to contour cut with out a machine that has built in eye and soft wear , but it's all about getting things perfectly lined up, and That takes a lot of time, and a lot of practice to get it right, I did it for a while and got good results about 50% of the time, the rest of the time the contour cut was to far off to sell the sticker. Get a cutter that has an electric eye it will come with soft wear that will allow you to cut stickers.
