Hello from Kansas City...
« on: February 03, 2012, 11:54:06 AM »
Hello and Good Day!

I am totally new to vinyl cutting and felt very lucky to find this forum. I have to say it was refreshing to see that you all jump in to help people. We all know of forums that do not do that. Sad.

Anyway, I have always wanted to do vinyl cutting for stickers, but didn't think it was affordable. I always thought it was a "Big" business kinda thing. Little did I know! So, here I am, a manager at a fast paced business looking for ways to advertise both inside and out, without spending more than we have. One thing led to another and here I am.

I am looking at a Craft Robo Pro/CE5000-40-CRP. Epson WorkForce 1100 Inkjet Printer w/CIS. And Adobe Ill CS5, as I am a Mac person. Though I can do a PC if need be. Just more expense up front.

I am looking to do bumper stickers. Ad work within the store and on the windows. To make signs that can be used through out the store as needed, like 'sale', info cards about product and specials. You get the idea...

So that's the tip of my iceberg. I look forward to reading more here and most of all asking questions so I don't (I hope) make as many noob mistakes. Along with spending money that I don't need to spend. My boss likes it when I do things right the first time!

Thank you for your time in making this a great forum.  049.gif

Great sales pitch, but the boss said no more money unless I wanted to take it out of my pay. :o  We are only going to use this for our current business and we have no real place for bigger banners.  That said, if the boss has a change of heart, I know just who to talk to.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I am having a great time reading some of the wonderful help you have here. And that reminds me. I need to get back to work!  :-\

I keep catching myself looking at ways I can use the ideas I have. I'm also finding that as I talk to my employes about what I want to do that they are getting into the swing of things and are helping by coming up with ideas too.

I am getting closer to the date to pull the trigger and make the order.

This stuff is addictive!  ;D

What type of vinyl work do you do glassman67?
