That great old Cinematographer Geoffrey Unsworth O.B.E. was once asked what was the difference between a highlight and a flare, his answer was "About 3,000 Pounds a week"  LOL  ;D ;D ;D   So if you're selling or advertising your work,  Decals are more expensive than Stickers. LOL  ;D ;D ;D

I used to think of decal as being soaked in water to install
And a sticker is a peel and stick type of install
But today I think people use either word for the same thing

I was a steel rule die maker for many many years. And I made many dies for cutting decals/stickers.

In my mind, a sticker is printed and is peel-and-stick, while a decal requires apptape.

Mine are premium vinyl graphics. Cost more than stickers or decals.

decal-a specially prepared paper bearing a picture or design for transfer to wood, metal, glass, etc.

sticker-an adhesive label.
