WF1100 cost and kit

I have a question, How does a $179 printer (wf1100) go from $179 to between $2100 and $3500??

I went on conde sight and they have WF1100 start up kits @ around $2300? So my question is why look so hard for the printer deal if everything else is so expensive?

I have seen people on here that found the printers for $89 ect but if it cost another 2k to get it going???, am I missing something?  :-\

The $2300 printer includes a excellent heat press and all the extras. You basicaly have a sub kit ready to go right out of the box. All you need is dye sub blanks. They are however using the more expensive inks and not the after market stuff.

Is there a less expensive way to get started in the sublimation? Thanks for the info!! :thumbsup:

If you are not in a big hurry, keep an eye on Craigs List and eBay
for GOOD quality equipment.
Don't buy the cheap stuff 2nd hand!

I found my Hotronics heat presses on CL right in my own town!
I had been casually looking for over 6 months.
Now I'm watching for a Graphtec 24" cutter...
but I can use my LaserPoint until I find a good deal.

Suzie is right. Keep a eye out for a good quality used heat press. The printer and ink is pretty cheap. If you can find a WF1100 at a local office supply store chances are you can get one for $100 or less. There are several suppliers online selling the dye sub ink. I used to get mine from Cobra before he stopped selling them.

Those will be the 2 main things you need. if you can find a good deal on a heat press you could be doing dye sub for around $500 or so. maybe less if your lucky.
