Good inexpensive Printer
« on: June 14, 2011, 03:39:20 PM »
Just looking to get the most bang for my buck. Really new to the biz but off and running. can anyone advise me on a wide format printer for printing decals/stickers( not super graphical stickers) 15"- 24". I would definitely consider refurbished... I know the description is pretty vague. Any help is definitely appreciated. It go beside my graphtec CE5000-60.    ???
Graphtec ce5000 Corel draw/inkscape/AI +MSI+ work station windows 7/ accidentally fell into this business 2 years ago. Self taught and still learning epson wf 1100.

Never mind, I realized you were talking about a printer not a cutter.

I've got a chance to purchase a epson 9600. It's a 44" printer and the price is right under a $1000. Should I?

description says Photographic Dyeâ„¢ Ink - not good for anything exposed to uv and not good for outdoor work.  good for indoor short term stuff though

I guess bang for the buck starting out, the Epson WF1100 is the place to start.  Usually around $130.  Add the COBRA CIS and run about $200.  13X19 size.  Prints fine.  A couple of different ink choices too with the COBRA CIS.

@ Atkins:  I'm talking total cost.  Printer can often be found on sale for $130 (normally $180).  I purchased the CIS I decided on separately for about $95.

I should have mentioned - "on sale".   ::)

I just bought an Epson WF 1100 on Amazon for $99, and Staples has them on sale this week for that same price.

Try B&H http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=epson+wf1100&N=0&InitialSearch=yes for a $96 WF1100 (FREE SHIPPING) and HotZone360 for a fully loaded pigment CISS http://www.hotzone360.com/pigment-ink-ciss-for-epson1.html for $55. or an empty one for UV/High Temp at $31.

 :o That's $151!

I print every 7 days (when I remember) and haven't had a single clog issue from their ink.
