Getting started with a WF1100, what to get?
« on: December 02, 2011, 07:23:07 PM »

Hi everybody!

With a stroke of luck, I found a WF1100 at a local Office Depot for next to nothing ($49).  Needless to say, I snatched it right up.

I'm not really interested in doing sublimation, I'm more interested in printing stickers and on opaque t-shirts transfers for darks.

My question is:

What CIS system should I buy?  (cobra? Hotzone360?)
What type of ink should I get?  (Dye or Pygment?)
What type of sticker paper should I get?  I'm interested in making stickers that could possible be used outside, from my understanding, I'll have to UV coat them.

I don't have a contour cutter yet, but, what opaque t-shirt transfers would you recommend?

This is exciting!

I use pygment ink (the only ink to use for decals) and Sihl 3988 matte sticky back media and put a clear vinyl over it.
Makes them look like photographs.

Is there anywhere I can buy this sihl's 3988 and clear vinyl in sheets?  Small quantities at first.
