Homemade Speedpress

I know several of you have made home built Speedpress type gizmos. My question to you is, do you use their special transfer tape or normal transfer tape? What is the difference between Speedpress transfer tape and normal transfer tape?

I recommend you use the lowest tack apptape you can get.  I occasionally have problems pulling up small letters when I put a brand new piece of med-tack clear Rtape on my DIY speedpress.   Definitely don't use paper tape.
