Is my quote on this about average?
« on: October 31, 2011, 03:34:36 PM »
Got a company that wants their logo in one color vinyl, 18" tall by 12.7 feet wide. VERY simple weed. I quoted $95 (basically $5 sq/ft). They also wanted a quote at 24" tall, which would be 2' by 16.3', at $163.

Does that sound reasonable? It sounds high to me, but I dont want to underprice it, but from all I've researched, that sounds about ballpark for simple one color/layer cut vinyl.

I calculated about 140 for the 2'x16' and 114 for the 18" x 12'

Too low, did four decals (2 @ 12"X48" and 2 @ 8"X15") on a boat in Shoreline Village this weekend for $500.
Doing the owner's rear truck window on Friday (1 @ 12"X40") for $175 ($280 if he decides he wants two colors).

I did up it to $114/$195 ($6 sq/ft) before sending the quote. That being said, it was for my brother in law who's getting me in the door to do work for his company. They like this logo, opens the door for more work.

So on a basic design like this, what would you be per square foot? I went $6 on this one, it's absurdly simple. They provide the eps file, I cut, weed, and slap it on their drywall. Thats why I went $6.

I'd be at $152.44 for the 12.7' decals and $200.06 installed

I use graphixcalc pricing software

... They like this logo, opens the door for more work.

This is usually either said or thought by both parties, and is usually a bad idea - it never seems to work out that way..Just doing good work, & being reasonably priced attracts the attention...

Standard Vinyl Price $7.50/sq. ft. plus $26.90/hr std labor rate outside the shop.  (I'd waive shop cost, as you said it was their file, and single color and super easy)  Depending upon complexity or multi-layers/substrate, etc.. My shop time is $45 an hour.

$142.88 for vinyl, and at least $26.90 (1 hour minimum) labor = $169.78 (plus mat'l tax) ;D
