Anybody familiar with the Brother PE-770?
« on: May 23, 2011, 12:35:02 PM »
I am looking for an embroidery machine to do small stuff on hats, and left chests. I have read that the brother 770 is perfect for this. I am needing something which I can design it, digitize it and embroider  it..Dont need anything extravagant just the basics of design to stick. I have an order for 19 tees whenever I figure it out lol Love motiviation like that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would like to stay under 700 but have an option to do hats and would love to get a kit as well with hoops thread the whole nine.

Thanks again
OS: Windows 7 Design Software: Flexi 8.1 Pro Cutter: 24" Creation Pcut Heat Press: 15x15 Sunie..and a whole list of things I want

I have a 6 needle single head machine.  Check out the link above.  I don't think you can hoop hats, and unless it comes with the design software PE-Design you can't edit or digitize.   :)

Right you are.  You have to buy digitizing software separately and there is a learning curve there.

Also in order to do hats you have to buy a separate hoop and flatten them out to sew on them.  I also have the six needle, but started out on the ULT2002D.  Good machine but not for hats and big orders.  One needle is so much work.......not cost effective either.

pe 770 is a good starter machine. i have one and have done a lot of hats on them. yes you do have to purchase a hat hoop attachment but if you're not doing full production, you will be okay. although you have to flatten them, not totally, they still look professional if you have your files properly digitized. i have since acquire other machines but to get started i think i would be a good start for you. one way to familarize yourself with the process. i donot have a multi needle but i have two other machines along with the pe 770. i don't sole do embroidery so it works for me. i have done jackets, caps, just to name a few things.  good luck in your venture!
